Pete Hegseth on the Hill: Defense Sec. Nominee in Heated Exchanges at Senate Confirmation Hearing [WATCH]

Military veteran and former Fox News personality Pete Hegseth is on the Hill Tuesday fielding questions from the Senate Armed Services Committee about his nomination to serve as Secretary of Defense in President-elect Donald Trump’s second administration.

Hegseth, 44, is facing questions about his past comments on women, his anti-woke stance, and his experience as a soldier and working with veterans.

Hegseth tried to get ahead of questions about his outsider status during his opening statement.

“It is true that I don’t have a similar biography to Defense Secretaries of the last 30 years… we’ve repeatedly placed people atop the Pentagon with supposedly “the right credentials”—whether they are retired generals, academics, or defense contractor executives—and where has it gotten us?”
