It’s official: ‘DOGE’ is real…
According to an official statement from President-elect Donald Trump, former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and X billionaire and Trump surrogate Elon Musk will run the newly established Department of Government Efficiency.
Trump said in the announcement that the Musk-Ramaswamy effort would “provide advice and guidance from outside of Government” in tandem with the White House and its Office of Management & Budget “to drive large scale [sic] structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before.”
Trump likened the new initiative to the Manhattan Project; “This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!”
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement,” Trump added.
“Over the last 2 years, the Supreme Court has ruled that the administrative state is behaving in wildly unlawful ways. But slapping the bureaucracy on the wrist won’t solve the problem, the only right answer is a massive downsizing,” Ramaswamy shared on X along with the announcement.
Musk originally pitched Trump on the idea of a government efficiency position during an X spaces event earlier this year; Trump and Musk have been working closely ever since.
