Well isn’t this interesting. Newsmax, “the fourth highest-rated cable news channel in the nation” has mysteriously been dumped by cable providers Blue Ridge Cable, Atlantic Broadband and Hargray Cable.
No sooner had this news about Newsmax settled in then there was similar news about the corporate censorship of another conservative start-up – One America News Network, or OANN.
That corporate censor was Direct TV, which is owned in turn by AT&T. A trip to the Direct TV website reveals that the carrier carries CNN, describing it as one of the “essentials” that Direct TV carries.
Strange, yes? No problems with far-left CNN or MSNBC. They are “essential.” But conservative outlets? They are toast.

There is no rocket science in understanding this latest episode in the war against Newsmax and OAN and the always ongoing war on Fox.
These cancellations are all about woke corporate leadership canceling democracy and the free flow of information.
The assault on Newsmax and OAN comes after ongoing assaults in the last several years to bully the late Rush Limbaugh’s sponsors into dropping his show, and continual assaults on the sponsors of Fox’s Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham.
And there is more involved here than just this war on conservative media and its various star networks and commentators.
Over there in The Daily Caller historian Victor Davis Hanson has pointed out that the real threat to democracy is coming from the Left. He specifically notes that it is the Left that wants to….
– OK “about 2 million foreign nationals crashing the border in a single year — without vaccinations during a pandemic.”
– Allow foreign nationals to vote in New York City
– Junk the Electoral College and “the preeminence of the states in establishing ballot laws in national elections.”
– To “scrap the 180-year-old filibuster, the 150-year-old nine-person Supreme Court and the 60-year tradition of 50 states, for naked political advantage.”
– Nor were they concerned last year when Democrats in the Senate “put on trial an impeached ex-president and private citizen, without the chief justice in attendance, without a special prosecutor or witnesses, and without a formal commission report of presidential high crimes and misdemeanors.”
And they certainly weren’t “worried that the FBI, Justice Department, CIA, Hillary Clinton and members of the Obama administration systematically sought to use U.S. government agencies to sabotage a presidential campaign, transition and presidency via the use of a foreign national and ex-spy.”
Now comes the war on Newsmax and OAN.
Let’s get serious. Individually, not to mention collectively, the American Left and its woke elites – whether in corporate media, the US Senate and House or government bureaucracies and more – are engaged in a full-fledged assault on democracy in America.
Not good. Not to mention dangerous.
