Trump Recommends Jeffrey Lord Article In Newsletter

In his January 19 newsletter, former President Donald Trump sent his supporters an article written by Jeffrey Lord in The American Spectator that detailed how the former president’s base has continued to hold strong since the 2020 election.

Lord had moderated two debates for the Lawrence County Republican Party of Pennsylvania last week, and, while they were both ordinary debates, he noted that there was “one standout factor at play that night, it seemed to me: former President Donald Trump.”

Lawrence County Republican Chair Lynne Ryan had asked Lord if he could obtain a short video greeting from Trump to play for the audience. The video was met with “huge applause and cheers,” and the entire night followed the pattern of “clearly passionate support for Trump.”

For example, as Lord asked questions of the Republican candidates, he used both his own questions and questions from audience members. As Lord explained, in the break between the two debates, he returned to his desk to find a note on his desk with a question from “an unknown audience member. The question was scribbled out in pencil for the governor candidates.”

“Audit the Vote PA,” the note said. “Would like to ask the Governor candidates if they believe that Joe Biden is the legitimate winner of the state of Pennsylvania in the 2020 elections?”

Underneath the question was this, heavily underlined, “Yes or No only!”

After Lord asked the candidates the question, it was not until one candidate shouted a loud “No!” in response when “the auditorium erupted in thunderous applause and shouts of approval.”

In his article, Lord went on to explain multiple election security problems in Pennsylvania, and then concluded, “It is a tribute to Trump and his voters in both Pennsylvania and now Arizona, as was seen this past Saturday night at his rally in Florence, Arizona, that his ‘base’ is going exactly nowhere.”

“Nor should they,” he wrote.
