The View’s Behar and Hostin to Jedediah Bila on Vaccine: Listen To Us, Not Your Doctor

Once upon a time, Jedediah Bila was a co-host of The View, the ABC morning talkathon that features as co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin.

Long gone from the show now, she was booked this week for an appearance at her old stomping grounds.  But Jedediah was beaming in virtually from home. Why? She is unvaccinated.

Well. Cue for all hell to break loose.

To start, I met Jedidiah years ago. She is one of the nicest people on the planet. Time has moved on and she is now a Mom after having spent a couple years as a co-host of Fox and Friends.

Here’s the headline from Mediaite about her appearance:

The View Goes Off the Rails After Jedediah Bila Defends Opposition to Vaccine Mandates: ‘You’ve Been at Fox TV Too Long!’

The reason Jedediah was beaming in from home instead of being in-studio in New York was this, per Joy Behar. “ABC has a very strict policy” on vaccinations, and no vax, no entering their building. Additionally, The View is famously a show with a live, in-studio audience – and the show requires all audience members not only be vaccinated but show proof of their vaccination.

Mediaite reported this:

“When Behar asked her why she hasn’t been inoculated, Bila said she had a ‘medical exemption to the vaccine that’s been written by my infectious disease, vaccinated specialist in New York City that’s been co-signed by three other doctors.’”

Jedediah also said that “I’m not a candidate for this vaccine.”  The vaccine, she said, “poses a greater risk than a benefit” to her, and that she has a “sky-high, multi-tier, multi-faceted natural immunity.”

The fireworks began when she said this:

“I am not anti-vaxx,” but “I do oppose mandates,” and “the vaccine does not prevent you from getting Covid and does not prevent you from transmitting Covid.”
All of what Jedediah said is perfectly true, as the CDC says right here on its website. . The CDC specifically says that “since vaccines are not 100% effective at preventing infection, some people who are fully vaccinated will still get COVID-19.”

But hey. What are facts from the CDC to Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin?  Said Joy:

“Oh my goodness! That’s not so! C’mon! You have been at Fox TV too long.”

When Jedediah cited the CDC’s statement, Sonny sniped:

“I don’t understand why you would prioritize your personal freedom over the health and safety of others.”

Then, without the slightest sense of awareness, Hostin said:

“I don’t think we should allow this kind of misinformation on our air. I’m really sorry, my friend. I’m really sorry.”

In fact, it was Hostin and Behar who were spreading misinformation on ABC air. They were effectively telling their audience that the CDC advisory was not true – when it is.

Jedediah, importantly, also said this:

She has a “medical exemption to the vaccine that’s been written by my infectious disease, vaccinated specialist in New York City that’s been co-signed by three other doctors.”

In other words? What Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin were saying is that when it comes to getting the vaccine, Jedediah should listen not to her doctors – with four doctors familiar with her health making the no-vax recommendation for her – but rather listen to television chat show hosts who have zero medical training and know zero about Jedediah’s personal health.

Great. Just great. So there we have hosts of The View telling their audience to listen not to their doctors – but to them.

Jedediah Bila is one smart woman, and is nobody’s fool.

Alas, the same can’t be said for Behar and Hostin.
