During an episode of “The View” on Tuesday, former “Fox & Friends” host Jedediah Bila was accused by the cast of spreading “misinformation” after she correctly claimed that fully vaccinated people can still be infected with and spread COVID-19.
“Okay, Jed, let’s address the elephant in the room,” co-host Joy Behar said. “You were supposed to join us in the studio weeks ago, but you couldn’t because ABC has a very strict policy: You can’t get into this building unless you’re fully vaccinated.”
“Everybody in this room knows that and is vaccinated. But you made a conscious decision not to get the vaccine,” Behar continued.
“I am not a candidate for this vaccine,” Bila replied, adding, “I am not anti-vax. What I really want is for people to make these decisions for themselves”
Bili added that she does oppose COVID-19 vaccine mandates and pointed how the current COVID-19 vaccines do “not prevent you from getting COVID and does not prevent you from transmitting COVID.”
Bili’s evidence-backed claim prompted backlash from the anti-science cast.
“Oh my goodness!” Behar replied. “No, that’s not so. You’ve been at Fox TV too long,” Behar added, to significant applause from the studio audience.
“I don’t understand why you would choose to prioritize your personal freedom over the health and safety of others,” co-host Sunny Hostin said.
It should be noted that numerous studies have found that there is no difference in the viral load between vaccinated and unvaccinated people infected with COVID-19. For example, in a Wisconsin study earlier this year, there was found to be similar viral loads between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals infected with COVID-19. Additional studies from both Massachusetts and Singapore similarly found no significant difference in viral loads between vaccinated and unvaccinated people infected with the Delta variant.
