Biden Backs up Psaki: Need to go ‘Door to Door’ to Get ‘Remaining People’ Vaccinated

Joe Biden backed up his White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki after her alarming claim that the Biden administration would go “door-to-door” to make sure “remaining Americans” get vaccinated. On July 6, Psaki said in a press conference:

“The president will outline five areas his team is focused on to get more Americans vaccinated. One, targeted community, by door-to-door outreach to get remaining Americans vaccinated by ensuring they have the information they need on how safe and accessible the vaccine is.”

Psaki’s comments created an online storm of comments about the Biden administration overstepping its reach and imposing upon civil liberties. Anyone hoping President Biden himself would have a less aggressive approach was sorely disappointed. The president doubled down on Psaki’s message.

Biden came out to the podium himself to deliver the message. “A special focus on five ways to make gains in getting those of you who are unvaccinated vaccinated,” said Biden. “Because here’s the deal. We are continuing to wind down the mass vaccination sites that did so much in the Spring to rapidly vaccinate those eager to get their first shot, and their second shot, for that matter, if they need the second.”

Biden continued, “Now, we need to go community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood, and oftentimes, door to door, literally knocking on doors, to get help to the remaining people, protected from the virus.”

Republican Daily writes:

There are currently 157 million fully vaccinated Americans in the United States. There are fewer than 6,000 cases and 50 deaths per day. When combining natural immunity, vaccination rates, and considering those who are not significantly at-risk, the COVID pandemic is effectively “over.” But not for Washington policymakers who want to vastly expand its powers in a blatant act of overreach.

The Biden administration is so concerned about COVID “variants” that it now risks sending workers to perfect strangers’ homes to harass them about their personal decisions.
That is an aggressive move that may wind up doing more damage to the Biden administration’s public image than it will gain with marginal increases to vaccination rates for a virus whose transmission has effectively slowed to the point it can barely spread.
