Wow. Here’s the headline from The Washington Post:
LeBron James says his deleted tweet about police shooting was ‘being used to create more hate’
The story says this:
“LeBron James deleted a tweet calling for ‘accountability’ after a Columbus, Ohio, police officer shot and killed a Black teenager, saying his anger would only fuel more hate.
James had tweeted ‘YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY’ beside an hourglass emoji and an image of officer Nicholas Reardon, who shot Ma’Khia Bryant, 16, after she charged at two people with a knife.
‘ANGER does any [sic] of us any good and that includes myself! Gathering all the facts and educating does though!’ James, an Akron, Ohio, native, wrote in two tweets. “My anger still is here for what happened that lil girl. My sympathy for her family and may justice prevail!”
Notice anything missing in LeBron’s statement?
As noted right over here somehow, someway LeBron has managed to educate himself and instead skipped the central fact that the police officer in question saved a black teenage girl from being stabbed, if not stabbed to death.
As also noted here on The Jeffrey Lord the National Fraternal Order of Police made a point of responding to LeBron’s comments with that strange thing called facts. Tweeted the FOP:
“.@KingJames, with his vast resources & influence, should educate himself and, frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the facts before weighing in. This is disgraceful & extremely reckless.
The officer saved a young girl’s life. No amount of gaslighting will change that fact.”
Exactly.
What the arguably most famous athlete on the planet did was try and gaslight Americans and everyone else that, precisely as the FOP says:
“The officer saved a young girl’s life.”
Yes, he did.
Over there at The Right Scoop (among other places) is a second video other than the police body cam video of the event. The headline from Right Scoop:

The video is from the security camera of a house across the street from the incident in question. And it has audio, making plain that the attacker, teenager Ma’Khia Bryant, was fully intent on doing serious harm to the black teenage girl in the pink sweatsuit.
Yet there is LeBron James with not a word about the police officer saving that young black girl’s life by shooting Bryant, who was both shrieking that she was “going to stab the F**** out of you, B****!” – and quite clearly had a large knife in her raised hand to do just that.
In other words? LeBron James just tried to gaslight America and the world into believing the police officer did not do what he plainly did – save the life of a petrified teenage black girl who was desperately trying to get away from her knife wielding assailant.
One has to ask the obvious question. Is LeBron James acting as the role model a superstar athlete inevitably becomes for kids?
Obviously, the answer is no.
Is he telling kids they shouldn’t be running around trying to stab other kids and possibly kill them? No.
Accountability for LeBron James? None. Missed opportunity for LeBron James? Yes. Big time.
